The Customer Support Weekend Roundup #5

February 17, 2013 By Chase Clemons Leave a Comment

The community here is fantastic. I got so many links this week for articles that I didn’t know where to start! This week’s roundup is going to be a little longer than normal but there’s some great reads here. I didn’t want to leave any out.

If you’ve got any articles or links that we’ve missed, make sure to let us know in the comments.

Now grab that cup of coffee and dig in!

1. Sticker Mule drops phone support

And nobody really got mad. Shows that the phone support “requirement” just depends on the business you’re in.

2. Facebook War Games

Facebook drills its developers with mock war games. Kinda like how you should be drilling for those downtime events with your app, right?

3. Dummy Features

A great idea to see if your customers really want that new feature you’re thinking about adding.

4. Morale vs Motivation

Burnout is something you’ve got to keep an eye on with your team. This one is kinda “call-centery” but it’s got some good info in it.

5. Insulting Customers is Not a Strategy

Nope. You won’t win doing that.

6. All Hands Support

A look at how Olark gets everyone in there answering customer questions.

7. 5 Customer Service Lessons from Winnie the Pooh

Who doesn’t love learning things from childhood favorites?

Did I miss one from this week? Leave a link to it in the comments or get in touch with me here. I’ll include it in next week’s support roundup!
